The Roads Between Us
A river bends, a pathway turns,
A traveler watches, listens, learns.
A basket, story, song, or seed
Can travel far to meet a need.
Along the rivers, canoes glide,
With food and pottery tucked inside.
Neighbors meet and goods are shared,
And friendships grow because they cared.
Across the desert, camels go,
Beneath the sun's bright golden glow.
They carry salt and precious gold,
And news of places yet untold.
Across the water, ships may sail,
Through morning sun or stormy gale.
They carry people, goods, and views,
And sometimes change the lives they choose.
A road is more than dirt or stone;
It reaches farther than we've known.
For when two different pathways meet,
New thoughts can travel with our feet.
