Explanation Station

Whole group, Tier 1, on the SmartBoard. Answers may not be wrong, but our job is to find answers that are strong!

Purpose

Students practice explaining evidence with the DEEP FACTS explanation types, so the explanation shows how the evidence proves the thesis (central idea).

How it works

Level 1: choose an explanation and learn which DEEP FACTS type it uses. Level 2: the class writes its own, and the tool names the type or asks us to try explaining it again.
