Check MATE

Whole group, Tier 1, on the SmartBoard. Students tell the teacher what to type, and Check MATE shows what they did well and their next best move.
Purpose

Students build a thesis (central idea) together for a real prompt from our Teacher Lesson Plans and Student Workbooks, then upgrade it one move at a time.

How it works

Choose the grade, cluster, module, passage, and prompt. Type the class thesis, click What is my next move?, and try again up to three times. Read the passage first.

The zones

Green has the TOPIC, the CHARGE, and an ANSWER in the right shape. Yellow is partly there. Red is off the prompt or a fragment.
